7th May Sandbach 81 a.o. Pott Shrigley124-9 Pott secured a last over, maximum points win against Meller Braggins league leaders Sandbach. Put in to bat on a difficult wicket, a solid opening partnership from Jamie Hart (20) and Warren Barlow (26) was backed up by overseas player Kyle Patterson (25) before Alex Jackson and returning player Tim Barton pushed the total to 124-9. The Sandbach reply was soon scuppered by captain Jamie Hough, whose attacking bowling saw him return excellent figures of 6-19 off 18.5 overs. He was well supported by Alex Jackson 3-44. Keeper Ryan Fitter also put in a good performance. Sandbach's last wicket fell only minutes before the rain came.
14th May Pott Shrigley 219-8 dec. Disley 74-6 Shrigley continued their resurgence with a winning draw against Disley in a rain affected match. Pott were inserted and despite losing Warren Barlow in the third over, they made a positive start, reaching 45-1. Two quick wickets brought Sam Cleaver and Jamie Hough to the crease. They put together a partnership which realised over 100 runs. Cleaver played an aggressive innings of 81 hitting four sixes in the process with Hough scoring a restrained 48. The lower order also hit out helping Pott to declare on 219 after 43 overs. Rain delayed the Disley innings, leaving Shrigley only 28 overs to dismiss Disley. The pace attack saw Disley reduced to 74-6, with two wickets for Alex Jackson and Jamie Hough plus one for Matt Tarr, but then the overs ran out.

21st May Pott Shrigley 2nds 88-3 Bunbury 87 a.o. Pott Shrigley 2nds scored their first win of the season in a match they dominated throughout. The Shrigey quick bowling attack proved too much for the Bunbury batsmen. Robert Lea's impressive return of 4-16 along with Adam Davis's 5-31 swept the opposition away. Gareth Thomas and Skipper Andy Dawson opened confidently but when Dawson went for 18, two more wickets fell in quick succession. Matt Tarr then steadied the boat and played calmly for three overs before opening his shoulders. His innings of 33 included four sixes and two fours, taking the game from a startled Bunbury. Thomas joined in the fun, with two sixes in his mostly patient innnings of 34. A great way to open their 2011 account.
28th May Chester County Officers176-6 Pott Shrigley230-6 Dec. Shrigley had to settle for a winning draw as second placed Chester CO. frustrated them. Batting first Shrigley racked up an impressive 230-6. Jamie Hart (82) and a belligerant 60 from in-form Sam Cleaver, off only 30 balls led the way. In reply Chester C.O., batted safely in scoring 176-6. Alex Jackson and Warren Barlow picked up two wickets each but Shrigley lacked the incisiveness needed to take victory.

11th June Pott Shrigley v C.H. Ladybridge Jamie whips them off- - - Pott fell short of their target, at home to Ladybridge. The visitors only made 135 all out, with the Jackson brothers sharing seven wickets, Matt taking 5 for 29 and Alex 2 for 20. At this point Pott were looking the favourites. Pott Shrigley convincingly beat Alderley Park in a rain affected fixture at Shrigley Park. Having mopped up after the morning down pour skipper Jamie Hough won the toss and elected to field. The decision looked good as Hough removed Park opener McKeever. Alderley however consolidated and reached 120 at the 25 over stage. At this point Rick Mattock (4 for 68) and Matt Jackson (3 for 40) took regular wickets to see park bowled out for 169. With only 37 overs to get the runs Shrigley looked to bat positively. Openers Jamie Hart (55) and Warren Barlow (69) put on over 100 for the first wicket before delightful cameo's from Sam Cleaver and Kyle Paterson saw Shrigley home with three overs to spare. 2nd XI v Alderley Park At Alderley Park, Pott Shrigley batted first and posted a reasonable 152- 9. Rob Lisney 31 anchored the innings, with Matt Tarr 41, Karl Burgess 29, and Joe Parker 15 adding some late momentum. In a rain affected game Shrigley's bowlers did well to bowl Alderley out and claim the points. Adam Davis had too much pace and bounce for the batsmen's liking taking 4-26. Eddy Rawsthorne again took 3 wickets, Matt Tarr 2 and Andy Farrer 1, in a good win. Gaz Thomas also took a fantastic catch as the Second XI keep up their recent improvement.
25th June Bowdon Vale 134 all out. Pott Shrigley 138 for 9 Batting first, Bowden Vale were soon in trouble, thanks to an excellent spell by Matt Jackson. His best return, so far, of 7 wickets for 43 runs, backed up by some fine catching and the safe hands of keeper Hart, looked to have ensured Shrigley victory, as Vale were sent back for 134. Disasterous batting though, looked to have thrown the game away as Pott stumbled to 81 for 9. However, this brought Rick Mattock to the crease in an unacustomed role of number 11. Rick and the patient Kyle Paterson, then set about the task of reaching the required 54 runs needed. In a nail biting tense finale, they made good their target with only two overs left to play. Mattock, the hero, finished the game on a superb 37 not out with Kyle on 17 not out. This tense win now sees Shrigley up to fifth in the league.

Shrigley's 5 consecutive league victories now moves them into 5th position in Division C. Andy Farrer pulls to leg-
2nd July Pott Shrigley 176 for 5 Chelford 175 for 8 Dec Alex Jackson sends back Mahboob, the Chelford opener, via a great catch by Matt Wood. Having won the toss and electing to field, Shrigley made a fantastic start with Alex Jackson removing the dangerous Chelford opener Mahboob, through a great catch by Matt Wood. Chelford consolidated well but a season best of 4 for 55 by Rick Mattock and Alex Jackson taking three wickets, including League top run getter Srivatava, restricted Chelford to 175 for 8. Wood 21 and Jon Ward 26 kept their nerve to see Pott home with an over to spare. 2nd XI Chelford Pott Shrigley Pott 2nds travelled to Chelford, who on winning the toss batted first on what looked like perfect batting conditions. Left arm over, Simon Ibboston then took a wicket in his first over. Shrigley's other opener Adam Davis was far too quick for the Chelford batsmen, and finished with 4 for 12. Davis was supported well by Chris Roddy who bowled a tight spell with figures of 2 for 14. Some fantastic fielding and catching from Shrigley saw Chelford dismissed for 81. The Pott innings was going well until Dawson went for 14. Gaz Thomas 25 and Burgess 26, then chased down the total with ease. Having lost the toss Shrigley were asked to bat on a damp looking track. The opening pair of Warren Barlow and Rick Mattock made a positive start putting on 40 for the first wicket in quick time. The dismissal of Mattock brought Kyle Paterson to the crease, who immediately looked in good form hitting a couple of towering sixes. Paterson scored 50 and was well supported by Andy Matheson who scored 30 not out as Shrigley recorded 168 for 7 in their allotted 45 overs, a good score in the conditions.
In reply Alex Jackson removed the Stretton opening batsman early, but Stretton looked well set at 70 for 1. A brilliant run out, sharp catches from Sam Cleaver and Jon Ward and 4 wickets for Mattock saw Stretton dismissed for 141. Mrs. Sandra Arnold presenting the Club with a new clock in memory of her Husband Keith, a top run scorer and former 1st XI Captain during 1979 - 1981. 17th September Chelford v Pott Shrigley Pott Shrigley 2nd XI 187-7 Chelford Pott Shrigley 2nds won the toss on a wet wicket decided to bat, as the home sides batting looked strong. Ally Baker- Brian got Pott off to a steady start making a solid 29 never looking in danger. But, when Rob Lisney was given out lbw for 10, plus the early loss of Karl Burgess and a direct hit to see Mark Dean run out, Shrigley were struggling at 47 for 4. Some aggresive hitting from Andy Dawson 40 and Matt Tarr 49 turned the game and saw Shrigley declare on 187 for 7. Chelford in reply lost both openers to Shrigley opening bowlers who were bowling a tight line. The impressive Rob Lea finished with 5 wickets was well supported by new signing, Stewart Hackley giving Chelford few runs early on. Chelford's batsmen dug in and looked like saving the game until 'golden arm' Andy Farrer took the final wicket in the last over, a brilliant caught behind from young keeper Joe Parker. This sees Pott 2nds finishing 4th in the league on 334 points only a couple of wins from promotion. New players, and a real team spirit, promises exciting times ahead for the Hillmen in 2012.
